Worship Gatherings: Experiencing God Beyond The Church Walls II

A few days ago, we talked about worship gatherings in Nigeria and how they have become more than just meetings—they are spaces of real, personal encounters with God. Read the article here

Today, we’re continuing that discourse by exploring other gatherings that are contributing to this growing culture of presence-driven worship.

Tarry – One Spirit Worship Ministry

One Spirit Worship Ministry leads Tarry, a worship gathering built around waiting on God in an unhurried atmosphere of prayer and worship.

The word “tarry” itself reflects the heart of the gathering: to wait, remain, and stay in God’s presence without rushing the moment.

It draws from Acts 1:4, where the disciples were instructed to tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with power.

Qavah – Abbey Ojomu

Abbey Ojomu leads Qavah, a worship experience inspired by the Hebrew word “qavah,” meaning to wait with hope, expectation, and patience.

It is a gathering that many believers describe as one they must experience at least once.

We’re sure you remember the powerful declaration that spread widely across worship spaces:

“We behold until we are formed, we qavah until we have strength.”

This expression helped birth a deeper worship language around waiting on God as a place of transformation. Qavah has since grown into a strong worship expression that emphasizes surrender, identity, and spiritual alignment.

The Mountain Experience – Moses Bliss

Moses Bliss introduces Mountain of Experience, one of the newer worship gatherings gaining momentum within Nigeria’s gospel community.

The name itself reflects its intention. The “mountain” symbolizes elevation, encounter, and separation from distractions. It positions the gathering as a space where believers can step away from noise and step into focused worship experiences.

The Mountain of Experience is steadily building recognition as part of this broader movement of intentional worship gatherings shaping modern gospel culture. Its first edition recently held on the 11th of April in Abuja, marking the beginning of what many expect to be a recurring encounter-driven gathering.

What stands out across these meetings is the genuine hunger that you can see in the heart of every attendee.

There is a growing desire among believers to move beyond routine worship into deeper encounters with God, and these programmes are helping to build communities of believers who are ready to worship.

Over to you, which of these worship gatherings have you attended? and more importantly, which other ones should we be paying attention to?
