October is here, and if you thought the year was beginning to wind down, the gospel music calendar clearly didn’t get the memo.
There is quite a bit happening this month, from new music and major album releases to worship gatherings and concerts. Some of these events have been on the calendar for months, while others are bringing together artists and listeners for what promises to be memorable moments.
So, what exactly is happening in October?
Here are a few things we have our eyes on.
TY Bello Is Releasing TWO Albums
TY Bello is taking things up a notch this month. On October 9, she is set to release two new albums, I Speak Lion and I Speak Lamb. According to the current release calendar, each project contains 20 tracks, meaning listeners are getting 40 new songs across the two albums.

If that sounds like a lot, well… it is. An album-revealing experience is scheduled for October 4 in Abuja, giving listeners an opportunity to hear about the music.
Forty songs. Two albums. October 9.
Limoblaze Is Bringing Solid Ground Home
If you have been following Limoblaze, you already know that Solid Ground has been one of his major releases this year.
Now, the project is coming to life on stage.

Limoblaze will bring Solid Ground Live in Concert to Nigeria on October 30 in Abuja and October 31 in Lagos. Both concerts are scheduled for 4 PM, with the Abuja show taking place at Celebration Church International, Utako, and the Lagos show at Celebration Church International, Acme Road, Ikeja.
And the guest list just got even more interesting.
Joe L Barnes is on the lineup, and Limoblaze has now personally announced that Lecrae will also be joining the concerts and he won’t just be popping in for a quick appearance. He is doing a full set.

Considering the Solid Ground project features artists such as Andy Mineo, DC3, Elle Limebear, Greatman Takit, Jackie Hill Perry and Princeton South, it will be interesting to see how the songs translate into a full live concert experience.
October is clearly ending on a high note for AfroGospel fans.
Hallelujah Challenge Is Back
October also means another edition of Nathaniel Bassey’s Hallelujah Challenge.
The October edition, themed “The Lord Reigns,” is scheduled to run from October 5 to October 30, culminating in a Hallelujah Festival on October 30.

And this year’s edition could even have an international twist, with Nathaniel Bassey indicating that Tanzania could host one of the nights if the travel arrangements work out.
So, what is happening in October?
Quite a lot. And we haven’t even reached November yet.
Which event or release are you looking forward to the most?
