Let’s Take A Love Ride With Folabi Nuel: Our Reviews About “Bobibi: Forever And A Day” Album

Folabi Nuel is undoubtedly a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader. He is known for his contemporary worship music, which blends elements of pop and urban contemporary gospel, and some of his popular songs include “Yeshua,” “Satisfied,” and “More Than Enough.”

With Folabi’s style of music and taste, the great expectation was not cut short when he dropped the “Bobibi: Forever And A Day” album. It was more than banger! He released the album on his wedding day, when he got married to his heartthrob, Gboremi Fagbemi in September, 2022.

We got to review the songs on your behalf, so you get to decide which is your favourite tracks and the ones you’d put on replay out of the eight (8) songs:

Eternity

“Eternity” is a wedding theme song. It celebrates love and commitment, and makes it a comparison with the eternal nature of God’s love. It is a fantastic choice for weddings, especially for Christian couples, because of its heartfelt lyrics and soothing melody. If you’re looking for a meaningful and touching song for a special occasion like a love celebration, you should definitely check it out.

Falling in Love

It’s such a sweet and catchy Afrobeat gospel song, whereby Folabi gets to feature Timi Dakolo for this one, and it’s honestly one of the real gems from his “Bobibi” album. The song is all about that crazy, wonderful feeling of falling head over heels for someone – you know, that giddiness, the butterflies in your stomach, and just being totally mesmerized by them – it perfectly captures all those emotions.

The melody is super catchy, and because the lyrics are so relatable, it’s definitely one song a lot of people can connect with.

Are you looking for a fun and feel-good song about love? You should definitely give “Falling in Love” a listen!

Butterflies

This is yet another romantic song of his that beautifully captures their initial stages of love. His expression on the song seemed to focus on the fluttering feelings, the excitement, and the almost nervous anticipation that comes with a new romance – and not just that, but also with a sure feeling of “the one”. The song uses the metaphor of butterflies to represent these delicate and exciting emotions.  “Butterflies” is understood to be one of his love-themed songs that comes with a blend of his signature gospel influence, while still maintaining a romantic feel. It’s a song that speaks to the heart and perfectly encapsulates the ‘honeymoon phase’ of love.

Perfect

You haven’t caught the bug of ”Perfect” by Folabi Nuel yet? You should. It’s such a sweet love song! We love it too.

The song is about celebrating that amazing feeling of finding someone who just gets you, someone who feels like the perfect fit. The song really captures that joy and sense of completeness that comes with a truly special connection. It’s a romantic and uplifting track of about four minutes, and of course, you’ll definitely hear Folabi’s gospel influence woven in there too.

Be Mine

This is a love song that expresses a heartfelt desire for commitment and a lasting relationship. It’s like a plea for reciprocated love and a promise of devotion. With Folabi’s gospel influence and signature over the younger generation, he blends the four (4) minutes track with romantic sentiments. That’s something you’d love to check out!

Monalisa

Our favourite out of the “Bobibi” album, has to be the ‘Monalisa’ track. It’s a really cool love song. By the usage of metaphor, Folabi Nuel described how totally smitten his woman is – just like the famous Monalisa’s painting.

Just like FN’s description of his woman, any lover singing the song reflects that it’s not just about saying their partner is pretty but also, more likely to have this mysterious and captivating vibe, just like the Monalisa’s smile.  It’s a pretty creative way to tell someone how much you admire them, comparing their charm to a legendary work of art!

For You

“For You” is a love song centered around complete devotion and unwavering commitment to a loved one. It is a declaration of love where the singer expresses his willingness to do anything and everything for his wife – the object of his affection – hence the title “For You”.

It’s a song that speaks to the depth of feeling and the desire to go above and beyond for someone special. And with someone special of yours, you should be ready to recreate this song too.

911

On this track, instead of the usual romantic metaphors, he used “911,” like the emergency services number, as a way to express how urgently he needs to be with his love interest, only that this was done with his signature smooth melodious style of singing.

It’s a pretty unique way to describe that feeling of needing someone in your life, and this song is definitely a creative take on expressing how important someone is to you.
