Kaestrings: The Voice of “Ga Shi Nan”

Kaestrings born Kingsley Innocent Owoicho-Oche on November 24, 1993 is a standout talent in Nigerian gospel music known for his heartfelt worship, cultural resonance, and deeply spiritual sound. He hails from the Idoma tribe of Benue State but grew up in Zaria, Kaduna State, where his love for music began at a young age.

Kaestrings’ passion for worship music started in the church. He sang in the children’s choir at Gospel Ministry International (GMI) in Zaria before graduating into adult worship leadership experiences that gave him strong musical grounding and connection to community worship. The stage name Kaestrings comes from combining “K” from Kingsley with “strings,”.

Many people first encountered Kaestrings through his viral ministration of “Ga Shi Nan” during the Hallelujah Challenge. That moment introduced his sound to a much wider Christian audience and interestingly, the song wasn’t even fully produced at the time.

Kaestrings’ music is known for blending traditional African rhythms, indigenous language, and contemporary worship, creating a sound that appeals to a wide range of listeners. His lyrics often emphasize God’s presence, peace, victory, and intimacy with Christ. His ability to mix Hausa and English in worship has also helped build bridges across cultural lines in Nigerian gospel music.

Over the years, Kaestrings has expanded his discography with powerful songs and live worship recordings, including “Tare (Not Alone)” a track recorded live and released in 2025 that emphasizes God’s constant presence and comfort at all times.

Kaestrings’ influence extends beyond studio releases. He serves under Apostle Joshua Selman at Koinonia Global/Eternity Network International (ENI), a ministry base that has shaped his spiritual depth and ministry direction. His songs have become familiar in corporate worship events and prayer gatherings, providing space for both personal reflection and communal praise.

Beyond music, Kaestrings is also a family man. He is married to Victoria Emmanuel (also referenced in some sources as Victoria Emmanuel Innocent). The couple got married on November 6, 2021, and they are blessed with two children.

With a blend of cultural authenticity, spiritual depth, and heartfelt worship, Kaestrings’ songs continues to bless lives.
