It feels like January was just yesterday.
Many of us started the year with notebooks full of goals, fresh prayer points, Bible reading plans, and a determination that this year would be different.
Fast forward a few months, and somehow we’re already in the second half of the year.
So here’s a simple question:
How are you really doing?
Not just at work.
Not just financially.
But spiritually.
Did you manage to stay consistent with that Bible reading plan you started in January?
What happened to the prayer routine you were excited about?
Are you still journaling? Still serving? Still making time for worship, or has life simply become… busy?
Life has a way of interrupting even our best intentions. Deadlines pile up. Family responsibilities increase. Unexpected challenges show up. Before we know it, the habits we wanted to build slowly begin to fade.
But here’s the good news: God doesn’t work with only January 1st.
He is just as present in July as He was at the beginning of the year.
The second half of the year isn’t simply a reminder of what hasn’t happened. It’s also an opportunity to begin again.
Maybe your Bible plan needs a fresh start.
Maybe your prayer life needs less pressure and more consistency.
Maybe it’s finally time to learn that instrument you’ve always wanted to use in church. Or to join the choir you’ve been thinking about for months. Or to spend more time listening to music that points your heart back to Christ.
Growth doesn’t always happen in one dramatic moment. More often, it happens through small, faithful decisions repeated day after day.
So before you make another long list of goals for the rest of the year, take a moment to reflect.
Celebrate the progress you’ve made.
Be honest about the areas where you’ve struggled.
Thank God for His faithfulness.
And remember that there are still many months left to grow.
The year isn’t over yet. Neither is your story.
