If you grew up singing “Trading My Sorrows” or “Above All” in, you probably filled Women of Faith under gospel music group and moved on. And honestly, that’s understandable, their music was that good.

But here’s what a lot of people don’t know: Women of Faith was never primarily a music group.

At its core, Women of Faith is a Christian global ministry operating in different countries providing digital media, resources, and events designed to encourage and equip women to experience a deeper relationship with Jesus. The music was always an extension of something much bigger.

Women of Faith was founded in 1996, with New Life Treatment Centers staging the first events. What started as a series of non-denominational women’s conferences across North America gradually grew into something far bigger — a global platform giving women a space to encounter God, find community, and be strengthened in their faith.

According to the organization, its events have been attended by more than five million people in total. That’s not a small thing.

The music was always ministry first. Songs like “Trading My Sorrows,” “Above All,” “My Redeemer Lives,” and “Wonderful Merciful Saviour” became staples not just in American churches but in Christian homes across the world including Nigeria.

And the ministry is still creating. Women of Faith have just released a brand new song titled “Joy of the Lord” — a declaration rooted in one of Scripture’s most powerful truths: “The joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).
