Every summer, The Rock Cathedral in Lekki, Lagos becomes the address for one of Africa’s most anticipated gospel events. The African Praise Experience known simply as TAPE is a gospel concert hosted by Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Metropolitan Senior Pastor of House On The Rock. Held every summer, it is a night of overflowing, vibrant praise and worship, the African way and it’s completely free to attend.
How It All Started
TAPE has been building its reputation for over a decade. Early editions featured gospel heavyweights like Sammie Okposo, Nathaniel Bassey, Kenny K’ore, Chioma Jesus, Lara George, Glowreeyah Braimah, and even American gospel group Mary Mary.
The 2023 edition raised the bar significantly, with a lineup that included Nathaniel Bassey, Mercy Chinwo, Eben, Moses Bliss, Kikelomo Mudiaga, Adeyinka Alaseyori, Beejay Sax, Mr M & Revelation, Judikay, Prosper Ochimana, and Prinx Emmanuel. That edition also welcomed exciting new faces including Adeyinka Alaseyori, Dare Justified, IB Quake, and Prospa Ochimana — artists making their TAPE debut.
TAPE 2025 — themed “The Overflow” brought an even wider lineup featuring Dunsin Oyekan, Onos Ariyo, GUC, Gaise Baba, EmmaOMG, Limoblaze, and Bidemi Olaoba alongside returning favorites.
TAPE 2026: One Altar. One Sound. One God.
This year’s edition is themed “One Altar, One Sound, One God” and holds on Friday, July 10, 2026 at The Rock Cathedral, Lekki, Lagos starting at 7PM till dawn.
The 2026 lineup brings some exciting first-timers to the TAPE stage. Sunmisola Agbebi, Kaestrings, and Blessing Lopez will all be making their TAPE debut fresh voices joining what has become one of gospel music’s most celebrated annual gatherings.
If previous editions are anything to go by, July 10th is going to be a night to remember and entry remains free.
