Six months ago, we started something simple.

We wanted to create a space where people could pause, even if only for a few minutes each day, and spend time with God. Life moves quickly, and between work, school, business, and everything else competing for our attention, it is easy for our quiet time to become another thing on tomorrow’s to do list.

That was the heart behind Akoko.

The name itself means “time,” and that is exactly what this devotional has always been about. Setting aside time to meet with God, reflect on His Word, and begin or end each day with our hearts fixed on Him.

Akoko is six months old now, and we could not let the moment pass without saying thank you.

One of the beautiful things about Akoko is its simplicity.

Every devotional is short enough to read before your day gets busy, but rich enough to still stay with you as you go about your activities.

And each day has an encounter for someone, it might be a gentle reminder that God is with you, or on other days, it is a challenge to trust Him a little more.

Over the last six months, we have watched people make Akoko part of their daily routine. Some read it before leaving for work. Others share it with their families or send it to friends who need encouragement. We have even seen people repost excerpts that spoke deeply to them, allowing those words to reach even more people.

These short reflections have become a source of encouragement for many people throughout the week, and the opportunity to share God’s word with thousands of others has been one of the greatest joys of this journey.

Looking back, we are grateful for every person who has read a devotional, shared a post, subscribed, or recommended Akoko to someone else.

Thank you for making room for God in your daily routine.

As we celebrate this milestone, we are reminded that six months is only the beginning.

There are still more Scriptures to explore, more conversations to have, and more people to encourage. Our prayer is that Akoko will continue to point people back to Jesus, one day at a time.
