AfroGospel Updates: What’s Happening in African Christian Music

The world of AfroGospel and African Christian music has been buzzing with activity lately, and honestly, there is a lot to catch up on.

From major album releases and exciting music videos to culture-shaping events and personal milestones from some of our favourite artists, the space keeps evolving in beautiful ways.

So if you’ve been away from the timeline for a bit, don’t worry we’ve got you covered.

Here are some of the biggest updates making waves in the world of African Gospel music right now.

Limoblaze Returns to His Rap Roots with Solid Ground

One of the biggest updates in the AfroGospel space right now is the release of Solid Ground by Limoblaze.

For fans who have followed his journey from the early days, this project feels like something special.

Before the release, Limoblaze had already given fans a hint of what was coming. In a post on X, he shared that although he was not “actively rapping” at the moment, listeners would still feel the influence of rap all over the album.

That alone got a lot of people talking.

Many longtime listeners have always known Limoblaze for his strong rap roots, and while his sound has evolved beautifully over the years into a more global AfroGospel and Afro-fusion style, there has always been that rap DNA in his music.

After the project dropped, he further confirmed the direction of the album by describing it as a rap project that was both deep and fun at the same time.

And honestly, that’s exactly what Solid Ground sounds like.

From “Pray” to “Tínbake” featuring Greatman Takit, all the way to “Cole Palmer,” every single track on the album hits differently.

Personally, it’s hard to even pick a favourite because every track brings something strong to the table.

For fans who have been hoping to hear more of rapper Limoblaze, this project definitely delivers that energy.

Gaise Baba Takes Aramanda to Ibadan for the First Time

Another major highlight in the AfroGospel space is the successful hosting of Aramanda in both Ibadan and Lagos.

This year’s edition was particularly special because it marked the first time the festival was held in Ibadan, expanding what has become one of the most exciting faith-and-culture events in the scene.

With a strong lineup of artists and creatives, Aramanda once again proved that AfroGospel is not just about music, it is also about community, culture, and shared experiences.

Holy Drill Ties the Knot

In other heartwarming news from the AfroGospel space, Holy Drill recently got married, and fans across the Christian music community have been celebrating the good news.

Known for his unique drill-inspired gospel sound and bold lyrical style, this marks a beautiful new chapter in his personal life.
Moments like this remind us that beyond the music and performances, our favourite artists are also living out real-life milestones that many fans love to celebrate with them.

Congratulations to Holy Drill and his bride as they begin this new journey together.
