The Impact Gen Z Churches Have On Afro Gospel Industry

Hello, Afro-Gospel lovers; as part of our routine, we are here today to explore a major topic that is rather interesting.

Gen Z

First, we all know that the church is pivotal in God’s will on the earth. The scriptures have shown us that we are the light of the world. Thus, we should shine forth our light in every corner that we are. This is the case of many Afro-Gospel singers; instead of singing lewd lyrics, they have all decided to glorify God with their talents. In the beginning, many people frowned at Afro-Gospel songs because they were different from the usual slow-beat worship songs. However, over the last 5 years, several names have emerged, and we are beginning to see many younger folks choose this Afro-gospel path.

To the big question is, why do you think young people are gradually exploring the Afro-Gospel industry?

The answer is simple – The Church. In Nigeria and globally, the church has embraced innovation and different trends. While some of these latest developments are negative and may cause a lot of dangers in the near future. I believe that accepting the Afro-Gospel culture in the church is a good move. I believe it will allow younger Christians to express their love for God in many ways. On the other hand, it creates a fun and exciting lifestyle for younger Christians. Do you think otherwise? Let me know in the comment section.

Hold on for a second; you probably think, ‘But my old church still frowns at Afro Gospel.” Well, the church I am referring to in this context is the Gen Z church.

Gen Z churches have all the grooves and vibes you can imagine. Moreover, the majority of members in a Gen Z church are younger people who are interested in showcasing their talents at different levels. The good news is that many churches are fully supporting their teenagers and youths to try out the Afro Gospel culture. In fact, the most recent names we know are emerging from the church, and their Pastor is solidly behind them.

Again, what would we have done if the church had never accepted the Afro-gospel culture in the first instance? I bet we would have missed out on a lot of energetic fusion. That said, it is high time we appreciate churches proudly supporting the Afro-gospel culture. Churches like Celebration Church International, COZA, Redeem Christian Church of God, The New, Logic Church, Harvesters, and many more are why we have some of our favorite Afro Gospel in Nigeria today.
