Sammie Okposo was born on May 30, 1971, in Delta State, Nigeria. His father had urged him to pursue a career in accounting, but he discovered his passion for music when he began playing the piano at the age of nine. Sammie Okposo officially began his production career in 1992 by joining the Nigerian Movie Industry as a Soundtrack Producer before venturing into Music Production.
He gained recognition in 2000 after releasing his debut album, ‘Unconditional Love’, which included hit singles such as ‘Welu-Welu’. Sammie Okposo has performed on stage with renowned artists such as Deitrick Haddon, Jonathan Nelson, Micah Stampley, Maxi Priest, Judith Sephuma, Sonnie Badu, Uche Double-Double, Lionel Peterson, Kirk Franklin, Don Moen, Jessy Dickson, Ron Kenoly, Cece Winans, and Nicole Mullen.
He served as a Glo Ambassador for ten years and also a United Nations Peace Ambassador
