Israel Odebode was born into a family of three boys and developed an interest in music at the young age of 7. He honed his musical skills on the drums and keyboard and produced his first song at age 16.
At around the same age, Izzy began leading Praise and Worship at his church, Assemblies of God Church Mokola, Ibadan, Nigeria. His encounter with God revealed the purpose of God in his life and was a turning point for him. In his words, “I view music as a tool to foster the gospel of Christ. I am the messenger; music is the medium, and the message is the gospel.”
Israel eventually moved to Maryland, United States in 2012, which further pushed his music and ministry movements.
Izzy kick-started his music career officially in January 2013 with his debut single, “MukuluMukeke”, which received critical acclaim and positive reviews. The systems engineer and IT professional went on to release his debut album “My Desire” in May 2014, which included masterpieces like “My Desire”, “Hungry for You”, “Oluwaloseyi”, and many more.
