Ada Ogochukwu Ehi or simply Ada Ehi, is a beloved Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and recording artist! Born on September 18, 1983, in the city of Lagos, Nigeria, she proudly hails from Imo State in the southeastern region of the country.
Ada’s musical adventure started when she was just a kid. At only 10 years old, she was a backup singer for Tosin Jegede. While pursuing her music dreams, Ada prioritized her education, attending Lagos State University to study Chemical and Polymer Engineering. During her university years, she became actively involved with the Believers Loveworld Campus Fellowship. Not only is she a fantastic singer, but she also boasts a strong academic background. This shows that passion and academics do not have to compete; they can complement each other. Ada didn’t have to choose between her music and her education; she made room for both.
Ada’s journey in professional music started in 2009 when she joined Loveworld Records and released her first album, Undenied, in November of that year. She continued to impress with a two-disc album called Lifted and So Fly in November 2013 and then released her third studio album, Future Now, which quickly climbed to the top of the chart for iTunes Nigeria when it dropped on October 16, 2017.
In 2019, Ada released an extended play Ada’s EP Vol. 1, featuring five tracks, and in 2020, she brought us another album, Born of God. With six amazing albums, she’s still going strong. This year, she released a new song titled Open Doors/On My Matter, featuring Amb. Sis. Chinyere Udoma.Â

The artist shared that the inspiration for this song came during a challenging period in her life, a time marked by spiritual warfare. Other notable tracks include “I Testify,” “Jesus (You Are Able),” “I Overcame,” and “Cheta,”.Â

Ada’s remarkable contributions to gospel music have earned her a plethora of accolades and recognition throughout her career. In 2017, she was honored by YNaija as one of the “100 Influential Christian Personalities in Nigeria”. That same year, she claimed the prestigious Groove Awards for West African Artist of the Year. She also received the YouTube Gold Play Button after surpassing the milestone of one million subscribers.
Ada met her husband, Moses Ehi, at Christ Embassy Church during her university days. The couple married in 2008 and are blessed with two children. Moses Ehi is an entrepreneur and serves as the CEO of FreeNation INC and SoundCode Studios.Â
Beyond her immediate family, Ada’s ministry extends to her involvement with the Christ Embassy Choir. She has been an active member, ministering at various church events globally, including in Europe, America, and several African countries. Despite her fame, Ada has managed to maintain a life free from public scandals or controversies, although earlier this year she and a couple of other artists left Christ Embassy and this raised a couple of questions although Ada Ehi is yet to address the issue herself.
