AfroGospel has no shortage of artists, but every now and then, a new artist comes along with a style that catches your attention. Described by his label, Iconic Stuff Entertainment, as one of AfroGospel’s rising voices, Saelem has built his sound around contemporary African rhythms, honest storytelling and faith.
His music doesn’t shy away from the complicated parts of being a Christian. Instead, he makes room for questions, pain, hope, healing and the decision to keep trusting God.
You can hear that clearly in his 2025 album, For the Lost Ones Who Found Jesus. The project explores the journey of people finding their way back to God, with songs such as “99+1,” “Fgvn,” “Wnda,” “Nu” and “Lately.”
Then came “Pain Killer” in February 2026.
Rather than pretending that faith means life never hurts, the song speaks directly to difficult seasons. Saelem presents the Holy Spirit as a source of strength for people who are exhausted, struggling and still choosing to hope.
And he didn’t stop there. In July, Saelem released “Yours Truly,” featuring Ugoaelo, marking his first official collaboration. The song explores surrender, belonging to God and the peace that comes from trusting Him. Musically, it continues his blend of Afrobeats and softer contemporary rhythms with faith-centred songwriting.
Saelem’s music makes room for the person who is still figuring things out, the person who has been hurt, the person who is waiting for healing and the person who simply needs a reminder that God is still there. And perhaps that is exactly why Saelem is an artist worth keeping an eye on as AfroGospel continues to evolve.
