Akinade Ibuoye, also known as Gaise Baba, is a Nigerian Afro-fusion artist born on August 5th. He sings in his native language Yoruba, as well as English and pidgin English, often combining all three languages in his songs. Gaise Baba holds a BSc in Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University and a diploma in Music Business from Berklee College of Music. He is not only a recording artist but also the founder of several platforms that benefit his community and Nigeria as a whole.
Gaise Baba’s debut album, released in August 2011 under Sanctified Records, introduced him as a conscious artist with a unique delivery style that spans generations. The album’s lead single, “Follow Follow,” was nominated for Best Indigenous Concept at the Nigerian Music Video Awards (2011) and the Africa Entertainment Awards (2012) in Malaysia.
